Social responsibility is a fundamental concept in Poliform’s corporate philosophy: a choice that reflects the company’s desire to respect the territory in which it was founded and, above all, to provide values by participating directly in the social fabric in which it operates. A sense of responsibility that goes beyond legal and economic aspects and is founded on the dialogue that the company has established with the many different interested parties within its own home community, committing itself to understanding their needs and to creating social programmes.Poliform recognises the importance of sustainable design and has adopted, over the years, a planning approach  that combines technological innovation and attention to natural resources. In particular:- Poliform uses panels that are composed of wood particles, class EPF-S E0.5, i.e., with minimum content and emission of formaldehyde- Poliform uses paint that does not contain heavy metals- Poliform does not use wood from protected tropical forests.- Packing materials are produced without the use of glue in order to facilitate dismantling, reclamation, and recycling.- Poliform has adopted an optical data storage system that has made it possible to save approximately 2,000,000 sheets of paper in a year. This is primarily due to the possibility that more people can consult a large volume of documents at the same time, which would otherwise have been printed. Poliform has received authorisation from the relevant regulatory bodies to undertake reclamation of manufacturing waste products. As a result, it is possible to reduce the amount of waste materials that is put into circulation and, simultaneously, the consumption of fuel oil.Our company is conscious of its social function and has adopted a policy designed to protect the environment for an authentic, sustainable development by using materials from FSC-certified suppliers that have a low environmental impact. The forest stewardship council (FSC) is the international association that includes among its members manufacturing, processing and marketing industries of wood and its derivatives, as well as environmental and social groups that collaborate to improve forest management worldwide. Our brochures are made from paper from certified forests because they are correctly managed from an environmental, social and economic point of view.Poliform’s commitment to the continuous improvement of the environmental performance in the production process is evidenced by the implementation of an Environmental Management System that has made it possible to obtain the environmental certification under UNI EN ISO 14001:2015

One of the basic principles of Poliform’s corporate philosophy is the attention we dedicate to people, by which we mean both individuals and the communities in which they live. In keeping with that principle, Poliform seeks to identify local and community needs and to respond to them via a series of initiatives aimed at improving quality of life both inside and outside of our company.

Within this social-responsibility framework one also finds the initiatives that the company has created over the years for the benefit of its partners, of young people, and of the natural and artistic heritage of the Poliform Group’s local community.

Poliform has, for example, dedicated special attention to the next generation, to those who will take center stage in the society of the future. Our goal is to foster an increasingly synergistic connection between formal education and the work world and to stimulate the creativity of tomorrow’s citizens. With that objective in mind, each year Poliform offers to several local students the possibility to participate in an internship in our company as one means of supporting the role of education in professional development.

In addition, Poliform has sponsored cultural development and research programs through publications and contests and has consistently lent its support to sports programs and initiatives.

Over time, Poliform has developed a fruitful and longstanding series of partnerships with a number of organizations and businesses in our area. Each of these is unique in its approach and objectives, but they are brought together by a sense of purpose and “good will.”
Culture and the protection of our local community play an integral role in Poliform’s social commitment as well, and we participate in and support projects whose objective is the revitalization of the Como community and province and enrichment of the area’s cultural offerings.
Poliform supports the non-profit organization, “Amici di Tanguiéta” (Friends of Tanguiéta), created by a group of entrepreneurs and their families committed to making a concrete difference. “Amici di Tanguiéta” works to provide solidarity and assistance to the hospitals of Tanguiéta (Benin) and Afagnan (Togo), two of Africa’s poorest countries.
Supporting good causes underlies our company’s mission, and making a substantial contribution each year to San Patrignano is one example. Poliform wants to play a role in this important effort to support the lives and dignity of young people in remaining free from drugs of all kinds.
Another mission of Poliform is the support of Comocuore, an ONLUS (Italian non-profit) established in 1985, which promotes initiatives of information and preventive measures to reduce the mortality from coronary illness in the city of Como and its surrounding area.

Poliform has also supported outstanding programs to make fine arts available to the public:
