THE LONDON FESTIVAL OF ARCHITECTURE 2019
KINGS ROAD SHOWROOM, LONDON
The exploration process continues through the search for new sources of inspiration undertaken by Poliform with the participation in the fifteenth edition of the London Festival of Architecture held in the British capital from 1 to 30 June 2019.
Considered the largest architecture festival in Europe involves the whole city with installations, debates, tours and theatrical shows. Everything revolves around the theme of the year, Boundaries, which is explored from different points of view and following many thematic areas.
Poliform interprets the theme of the event in its King’s Road showroom through an installation created in collaboration with Rich Stapleton, artist and photographer creative director of Cereal magazine.
A path in defining the boundaries that buildings inevitably create in every city, created with a series of architectural images of the English capital shot by Stapleton. Cities today represent the privileged observatory for understanding the great political, economic, social and cultural transformations that are reshaping the world. In this context, buildings play a fundamental role by creating both territorial and cultural borders. Districts and neighborhoods of which each city is made up define not only social relations but also the transitions between modernity and tradition.
